Hey Chick! Easter Matchbook

Image
Easter is my second favorite holiday next to Christmas, and creating for spring and Easter goodies is so much fun! It brings some cheeriness to the last days of winter and the start to warmer months!  Every year I make my husband a treat bag with Easter treats to celebrate in addition to our traditional meal. This year I spruced up some of his favorite treats including our favorite treat--Mini Cadbury Eggs! I decided to make a matchbook! See the directions below the picture!  Please ignore the extra adhesive on the design--my favorite Tombow liquid glue came out a bit too fast... To make the design as pictured above you will need 9.75"x 3.75" piece of So Saffron scored on the short side at 0.75" and at 5.25". I chose to do some tone-on-tone stamping on the back (I just used the tulip from the Springtime Joy! stamp set). I also used the 'Welcome Spring' stamp from Springtime Joy, and cut it out with the Double Oval Punch. Next, I pushed all the eggs to the &#

3 Tips for your Stampin' Up! Shammy

Image
I LOVE my Stampin' Up! Shammy! It is the easiest way to clean your stamps in my opinion! It is flexible, affordable,  and you can bend and squeeze it to get into the nooks and crannies of even the tiniest stamps! This last feature also makes it easy to clean off your stamps on and the plates of your stamparatus, too!  These are my top 3 tips for using your Stampin' Up! Shammy:  1. Store your shammy in an empty Stampin' Up! stamp case. You can recycle an old case, use a DVD case, or you can actually buy a set of 4 from Stampin' Up! for $8.00! I use these cases for TONS of things--water color pencils, paper pumpkin leftovers/stamps, shammy--these are a good investment! Having your shammy in a case keeps your desk/projects from getting wet, makes the shammy easy to carry with you, and keeps the shammy 'wetter' for longer! I usually just leave my case slightly ajar while sitting on my desk to keep any mold or mildew from forming; I close it completely when putting

You Scream, I Scream, We All Scream for Sweet Ice Cream!

Image
These are a few of my creations using the Sweet Ice Cream Bundle!  This bundle can be found on page 48 of the January-June 2021 Mini Catalog, and includes the ice cream cone builder punch and the Sweet Ice Cream stamp set! (156244 for the bundle of the punch and stamp set) I also use the Designer Series Paper (DSP) for the Ice Cream Corner Suite--which includes the punch, the stamp set, a pack of the designer series paper, Blackberry Bliss Ribbon, and the Ice Cream Corner Sprinkles! (155984 for the whole suite) This stamp set inspires creativity, has amazingly beautiful paper designs, and the sentiments are fun and some are even pun-ny! I also LOVE the font of these sentiments--the hand-lettered cursive look is a favorite of mine and these sentiments fit that bill! Some of these are CASE'd from the catalog and some are 'originals,' but I love how each of them turned out!

What is CASE-ing?

Image
CASE-ing is an acronym used by Stampin' Up! and means Copy And Share Everything!  This is a way to get inspiration for your designs. You basically catalog/internet search designs for a color, stamp set, paper, etc. and then 'copy' the card--although you can definitely make it your own in the process!  This is a really great way to get your creativity flowing and get inspiration! Often times, I set out to CASE and land somewhere in the ball park of 'recognizable' to the original, but with my own personality mixed in! I always make sure to give credit to the original, especially if it looks quite similar! Try CASE-ing a project that you love, either from the catalog or from an internet search the next time you feel 'lost' or 'burned out' with crafting or 'lacking creativity'! You will be surprised by how quick your mind jumps back into the crafting mood!  Here are some recent CASE'd cards I made from the 2021 January-February Sale-a-bratio
