Cute and Easy Bookmarks

One of the faster and simpler stamping crafts is to create bookmarks and Stampin' Up! has all the materials to make this quick and easy! 

I started by choosing a theme. The bookmark was a gift for a person who likes to read about space and science fiction, so I used the Stellar Birthday stamp set! See the supply list below to make your own!


Stamp Set: Stellar Birthday 

Ink: Memento Black, Pumpkin Pie

Blends: D/L Daffodil Delight, Real Red D/L, Petal Pink L, Smoky Slate L, Misty Moonlight D/L, Pumpkin Pie D

Cardstock: Basic Black, Basic White 

Tools: Heat Tool, Silver Embossing Powder, Fancy Tag Topper Punch, Choice of Ribbon, Tailor Tag Punch, Star Stencil (from a past Paper Pumpkin kit)

Adhesives: Stampin' Seal, Glue Dots

Other Tools: Lamintor (not a necessity, but it will add durability to your final product and make it super useful for longer!) I bought my laminator at Target for <$30.00. If you laminate, punch the top of the bookmark before and after laminating.  I ran my bookmark through the laminator an additional time after punching it with the lamination too. (Punch-->Laminate-->Punch-->Laminate)

What is CASE-ing?

 CASE-ing is an acronym used by Stampin' Up! and means Copy And Share Everything!  This is a way to get inspiration for your designs. You basically catalog/internet search designs for a color, stamp set, paper, etc. and then 'copy' the card--although you can definitely make it your own in the process!  This is a really great way to get your creativity flowing and get inspiration! Often times, I set out to CASE and land somewhere in the ball park of 'recognizable' to the original, but with my own personality mixed in! I always make sure to give credit to the original, especially if it looks quite similar! Try CASE-ing a project that you love, either from the catalog or from an internet search the next time you feel 'lost' or 'burned out' with crafting or 'lacking creativity'!
