Stampin' Up Place Cards/Treat Cards

I am starting work on Christmas stocking stuffers and treats for the season! I decided to make these cute candy cane holders, which will also couple as dinner place cards (pandemic permitting)!

Stampin' Up Supplies Used

  • Stampin' Up Cardstock (I used the 'Tis the Season 6x6 paper, 153489)
  • Stampin' Heat Gun (129053)
  • Stampin' Paper Snips Scissors (103579)
  • Stampin' Seal (152813)
  • Stampin' Dimensionals (Optional, 104430)
  • Classic Label Punch (141491)
  • Versamarker (from any craft store that sells stampin' supplies)
  • Gold Embossing Powder (109129)

How to Make Them

1. Cut two pieces of cardstock to 3.5"x2.5"
2. Mark ~1 inch down from the top, then mark 2.5 inches from the top on the 'top' piece of cardstock
3. Use the 'Classic Label Punch' to punch the horizontal cuts, centering your punch around the marks you made in step 2.
4. Use the Stampin' Seal double sided tape to adhere the top patterned piece to the back piece of cardstock. Trim any excess off the sides.
5. Use your Banners Pick a Punch to make the inverted edge banner (~1.5 inches wide) with a coordinating piece of cardstock

[The next steps are for decorating, so they can be tailored to your ideas! :)]
6. Free hand names with the versamark marker onto the banner
7. Sprinkle gold embossing powder and heat emboss [You could also stamp a holiday saying  with the versamark ink pad, or just add your favorite stamp!]
8. Attach the banner with Stampin' Up Dimensionals or Stampin' Seal
9. Add any additional embellishments (sparkles, ribbons, rhinestones, etc.) that you would like to the card
10.Add a candy cane or other themed candy that can be placed between the slots (Lollipops, Candy Sticks) and distribute to friends, family, and neighbors!

One thing I wish I had done, was to use a dryer sheet/embossing buddy before embossing to prevent static and 'messy'-ness around the text--next time!

These are perfect to place on dinner plates as place cards, to put in a stocking, or use as a gift tag for a gift (with candy canes, instead of bic pens, of course!).

These could easily be adapted for Easter, New Year's Eve, Valentine's Day, or any other holiday with appropriately themed paper, candy, and stamps. They are so easy to make, quick to produce, and fun to personalize!
